Lois Depuy established the Lois Kay Skillings Depuy Scholarship in Education to provide an opportunity for others to receive an education they may otherwise not be able to access. Depuy believes Northwestern Oklahoma State University provided her with an excellent education and she wants others to have the same opportunity.
Depuy is the eldest of seven girls, and one of four who received degrees from Northwestern. She knows the lack of income can prevent individuals from attending college and wants to ensure others can reach their goals.
Depuy was a teacher in her hometown of Hooker, Okla., for more than 30 years, teaching fourth and fifth grade classes.
