James H. and Teresa A. Parnell planned their investment in Northwestern Oklahoma State University through a revocable trust to ensure their vision of helping students would be fulfilled.
James H. Parnell was born on September 2, 1945, and passed away on February 15, 2025. He was a 1967 graduate of Northwestern Oklahoma State University. James majored in industrial education and utilized his degree teaching at the high school level. He married Teresa on February 14, 1977.
Teresa A. Parnell was born on May 11, 1948, and passed away on November 11, 2020.
“James and Teresa Parnell were thoughtful and deliberate while planning for this scholarship,” said Dr. Hannaford, Northwestern president. “This will have such a positive impact on our education students for many years to come. The Parnell legacy is defined by their wonderful generosity.”
Applicants must be full-time freshmen or continuing students with a 2.5 GPA or higher. Preference will be given to education majors.
